That's exactly the kind of situation that led to GATX's development of the TankTrain System that cuts loading and unloading times from days to hours. It now moves everything from pipe-line quantities of crude oil in the US to 95 percent pure sulfuric acid in Australia. GATX Rail Poland provides another example with its development of interchangeable wheel assemblies. These assemblies allow shippers to avoid reloading products shipped between Western and Eastern European countries where rail gauge differences prevent conventional interchange.
