Boxcars
Boxcars in the GATX fleet of railcars are available in 50, 60, and 86 foot lengths with loading capacities ranging from 70 to 105 tons and gross rail capacities of 220,000 to 286,000 pounds.
Our box cars are designed to handle commodities such as paper products, lumber and forest goods, canned goods and food products. GATX box cars offer plug or sliding single or double doors with cushioned or non-cushioned underframes and insulated or non-insulated interiors. Additionally, we can outfit these railcars with various interior loading mechanisms to secure loads and special linings for food grade products.
