GATX offers a variety of plastic pellet covered hopper railcars in capacities ranging from 5,250 to more than 6,200 cubic feet and offered in 263,000  to 286,000 gross weights. A number of lining and gate configurations are available to suit your specific needs. Our railcars handle all types of plastic pellets including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).


Car Capacities:

4,000 - 5,500 CF

Generally, these GATX railcars are configured to offer a capacity of 5,250 cubic feet with eight hatches and pneumatic gates.


Over 5,500 CF

The major configuration of these larger railcars offers capacities from 5,850 to 6,200 cubic foot capacity, 10 hatches and pneumatic gates.
