Intermodal Railcars

The GATX intermodal fleet includes three- or five-platform, double-stack well cars, and single-stack COFC spine cars used to transport domestic and international ISO containers.


In addition, GATX offers three- and four-position, non-articulated COFC flatcars. Our multi-platform, articulated and/or double-stack capabilities greatly increase ride quality and efficiency.

  

 

To select the right railcar for your needs, answer these questions:  

  • What container length works best: 20, 40, 45, 48 or 53 feet?
  • How many platforms are required: three, five or stand-alone?
  • Do you need articulated, bulk container railcars to carry dense, 20-foot waste containers?
  • Is double-stack capability needed?
