Small Cube Open-Top Hoppers and Gondolas

Our fleet of railcars includes a variety of small cube covered hoppers and gondolas in sizes from 2,300 to 2,800 cubic feet ideally suited to transport commodities such as industrial minerals, crushed rock, gravel and sand.

The GATX railcars are offered in 263,000 to 286,000 gross weights and include automatic discharge on hoppers and internal bracing with reinforced top chords on gondolas.

 

At 44 feet long, the GATX three-pocket, 2,300 to 2,880 cubic foot capacity railcars are an excellent choice for anyone shipping industrial materials, crushed rock, gravel and sand. Our railcars, which boast high capacity with a short overall length, are available with both air- and manually-operated gate versions and have an estimated load limit of 228,000 pounds based on a 286,000 pound gross rail limit.
