Position Purpose


The purpose of this position is to repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain shop facilities, machinery and equipment. This individual will also support the Quality Supervisor by maintaining the gauges throughout the shop.

Maintenance Activities

·       Identify and perform all tool, equipment, machinery and building maintenance repairs.

·       Update and manage the preventative maintenance and asset management programs.

·       Establish and maintain a good working relationship with vendors of parts and services related to maintenance.

·       Maintain inventory of appropriate replacement parts and maintenance stock.

·       Ensure equipment logs are maintained and provided to the appropriate parties for reporting purposes.




·       Supporting the Quality Supervisor through the maintenance of the gauges throughout the shop.

·       Updating GagePack



Ad-Hoc Projects

·       Support the shop via ad-hoc maintenance projects.

·       Capital project support (e.g. work with the Repair Center Manager to get quotes from various vendors)

·       Support the shop’s 5S projects (e.g. identify opportunities, work with Continuous Improvement team to implement changes)




·       Train on switching and serve as a back-up to the switch crew on an as-needed bais




Scope of Work:


  • The individual filling this position will interact with Engineering, supervisors, Quality, EH&S, Materials and Production personnel.
  • The primary areas of impact for this position are:
    • the proper and continued operation of the facility, machinery and equipment
    • maintaining the gauges throughout the shop.
  • This position has no direct reports.



Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):


  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience repairing/maintaining heavy equipment, including forklifts, preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including profieciency with or ability to become proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance software.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Improvement Order instructions, Fleet Maintenance instructions, work orders, AAR Field Manual and drawings, Electrical and Hydraulic Schematics
  • Ability to work well with others in a positive manner


Other (i.e., physical requirements, travel, etc. that is not covered above):


  • Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing positions
  • Must be able to perform overhead work for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift (vertically) up to 85 pounds from the ground surface
  • Must be able to push / pull (horizontally) up to 140 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperature environments
