The REMOTE, Lead Database Administrator will maintain and support the hardware and systems software-related processes required to meet the organization’s database (Oracle) infrastructure needs.  This includes database maintenance, implementation of the technical architecture, database upgrade project plans, audit and security planning, as well as the performance of day-to-day database environment support.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with other IT functional groups, determine Database global hardware and software infrastructure requirements and specifications. Coordinate and perform the implementation of upgrades to database operating systems, hardware, and system support application tools. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all supported databases and operating system software. Perform these activities (installation, upgrade, support, backup, data recovery, and security) with minimal disruption to the business. Maintain database hardware and software inventory with inventory application software. Plan, perform, and manage database projects as assigned.
  • Provide and coordinate support for database operating systems and systems application tool packages so that issues are resolved according to the standards defined in the established service level agreements. This includes: database and SQL tuning, monitoring, design, development of PL/SQL procedures, functions, and database triggers, and/or managing the intake, diagnostic, prioritization, and resolution processes, as well as maintaining the appropriate level of communication with the client and other IT staff involved in the resolution of the issue. Handles complex database-related technical issues and trains other staff members in their resolutions. This requires availability during non-business hours.
  • Investigate and stay abreast of technical and practical industry information related to delivery of ORACLE database, operating system, hardware, and infrastructure services. Recommend and institute best practices as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Interaction: Primary contacts will be IT managers and staff, external service providers, and clients.

 

 

Education and/or Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. 
  • 5 + years experience in database (ORACLE) administration required
  • Experience with RMAN backup and recovery utility required.
  • Experience within IBM AIX Unix and Red Hat Linux environments required.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology a plus.
  • Project Management and SQL Server Administration skills are a plus.
  • Experience with third party Oracle replication tools a plus.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to build quick and effective work rapport with others and strong teambuilding skills. 
  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, result oriented, customer focus, effective communication skills, and a win-win approach to problem resolution.

Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Developer, ERWIN, & Toad

 

As of February 8, 2023, the salary range for this position is $100,500. to $145,000. This range for this position is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity and other business needs.
