Overview:

The Mid-level REMOTE-Salesforce Administrator within the Information Technology group works directly with the Commercial IT Director to continually improve and enhance GATX’s Salesforce platform. Salesforce is a critical application for multiple business areas within the Commercial and Ops & Engineering departments. The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day maintenance including production support, bug fixes and small enhancements. They will play a vital role in the delivery of Agile projects implemented within Salesforce while ensuring cross functional integration and impacts are considered.  The position partners with peers within the IT group and across business functions to ensure successful completion of technology related initiatives and activities.

Responsibilities:

Perform development and configuration functions inside Salesforce:

• Configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Workflow, Process Builder, Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports
• Custom user interface development including Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Aura Components and Lightning Web Components
• Management of sandbox environments
• Maintain AppExchange applications including Conga

Support Commercial and related business operations through the following:

• Understand business processes and how underlying applications and data support or enable related processes
• Assess, analyze, and refine requirements as part of defined projects and initiatives
• Craft and recommend solutions with a focus on providing business value
• Respond to inquiries from business analysts and users by troubleshooting issues and helping with ad-hoc queries and requests for data.

Proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer

Participate in project planning via identification of tasks, issues and risks.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Strong Salesforce product knowledge and at least 3 years’ of Salesforce Administration hands-on experience with Sales Cloud
• Trailhead Badges/Super Badges
• Certified Salesforce Administrator
• Sound technical and analytical skills that enable effective interaction with software developers, enterprise architects and project managers
• Strong data analysis skills. Ability to understand, develop, and assess data designs. Ability to query data.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Desirable:

• Additional Salesforce certifications e.g. Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder
• Understanding of basic triggers/Apex code knowledge
• DevOps/release management experience
