Bogie Flat Steel Wagon ‘BFNS 22.9’

Though the BFNS 22.9 wagon is primarily designed to carry steel coils, it can also transport plates, flats, rails and rolled sections of steel. These wagons are compartmentalized into five troughs. The troughs are positioned longitudinally to facilitate positioning the coils in an “eye to the tracks” configuration. This wagon can carry 64.9 tons of cargo. There are 43 of these wagons in one rake.

• Flat wagons can be inducted under the Liberalized Special Freight Train Operators (LSFTO) scheme of Indian Railways.
