Bogie Flat Steel Wagon ‘BFNV’

The BFNV wagon is specifically designed to carry steel coils. These wagons are compartmentalized into five troughs. The troughs are positioned laterally to facilitate positioning the coils in an “eye to the platform” configuration. This enables the transporter to load and unload these coils from a platform using fork lifts. This coil wagon design can carry 69.6 tons of cargo. There are 58 of these wagons in one rake.

• Flat wagons can be inducted under the Liberalized Special Freight Train Operators (LSFTO) scheme of Indian Railways.
