The person in this role utilizes quality and industrial engineering techniques as well as other analytical methods to investigate and resolve customer rejects as well as identify and drive improvement opportunities within our shop network. This position will analyze quality data and lead the recommendation, development, and implementation of corrective actions. The Quality Process Leader will serve as a cross-functional resource for quality improvement at the Waycross and Terre Haute facilities. This position will perform analysis of data and review effectiveness of corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

Own/Manage the Opportunity for Improvement (OIR) Process at Waycross and Terre Haute
• Time spent: 75% - 100%
• Lead the investigation, root cause and corrective action development
• Coordinate discussions with stakeholders for determining root cause, developing corrective actions and ensuring successful implementation of corrective actions
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness
• Finalize reports and present during management review
• Participate in management review meeting and be representative and liaison for facility
• Support implementation of necessary process adjustments that may result from OIR recommended corrective actions, including creation/revision of procedures, instructions and forms.


Analyze the effectiveness of corrective actions based on Waycross and Terre Haute quality metrics and recommend further data analysis or enhanced corrective actions.
• Time spent: 25%, or time available
• Provide status updates and communicate results to key stakeholders at the Waycross and Terre Haute facility
• Analyze data from various quality inputs (including, but not limited to: nonconformance reports, customer complaints, and internal quality data) to determine trends and systemic issues and identify areas for quality improvements.
• Coordinate discussions with stakeholders for determining root cause, developing corrective actions and ensuring successful implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Quality Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent level of experience.
• One to three years of experience in related position required, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
• Quality system experience required (AAR M-1003, TQM, ISO 9000, etc.)
• Ability to extract, compile, and analyze data using standard statistical tools.
• Proficient in the use of MS Suite
• Power BI, ETQ Reliance & SharePoint proficiency is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge and experience in applying structured problem-solving practices, root cause analysis methods and quality improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma; formal training and/or relevant certification is desirable

Other (i.e., physical requirements, travel, etc. that is not covered above)
• Moderate travel as necessary to visit repair facilities, customers and attend industry meetings, up to 50%.
• Must be physically able to climb on and into equipment (rail cars) within a maintenance facility, stand on feet for extended periods in a plant environment.

We would prefer that this position is based out of our Waycross, GA facility but we are also open to having this position based out of our Terre Haute, IN facility.

Salary range:

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:
68600.00 USD - 95000.00 USD

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
