This person will be accountable for skilled labor employees including all aspects of safety, quality, production and cost. Ensures the highest quality work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans, organizes and supervises shift production in accordance with priority goals and availability of resources to ensure adequate and timely downstream flow to the finishing department. Performs quality audits to ensure a high-quality repair.
  • Communicates work area status/activities to the Shift Lead/Production Manager(s). Communicate with downstream departments to facilitate smooth car flow.
  • Uses technical experience, expertise and problem-solving ability to achieve and maintain quality repair. Maintains an effective work force by training, counseling and motivating agreement workers, and assure alignment with employee engagement.
  • Ensure that all necessary administrative work is complete and accurate.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in fast paced production environment with preferably 2-4 years’ railcar experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to work in extreme temperature environments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to sit/work in front of a computer for extended periods of time
  • Minimal travel may be required within the US and Canada
  • Role may occasionally support 2nd shift

Salary range:

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:
70300.00 USD - 84000.00 USD

This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.

This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
